lili lili howzak (new version)

here a more pacific version than the one I knew - much more cute too:

lili lili howzak
juju umad âb bokhore
oftâd tu howzak

yeki baresh dâsht
yeki khoshkesh kard
yeki âbesh dâd
yeki nunesh dâd
yeki paresh daâd
yeki goft KI PARESH DAAD?!?!
goft:"Mane mane kalleh gondeh! Mane mane kalleh gondeh!"

cute isn't it?

the only problem with lili lili howzak is that my daughter thinks "kalleh gondeh" is how we call the thumb in persian! :-)

Here is a link to listen to "shahreh ghesseh" with quite good quality (better than my old audio cassett at least). Enjoy!

If you know where to find the text, I'll be glad to post it here or make a link to the site where it is...

International Children's Digital Library - Free Persian Books for Children!

THIS is great! We just got in "par hasard"!!! Free scanned books authorized by the writers apparently. The "International Children's Digital Library" (ICDL) seems to be a foundation gathering children's books from all around the world and letting people read them online and of course print the pages. The board of the foundation is headed by people from MIT and other Maryland Universities in the US.

It is a bit difficult to get to the persian books from the home page, however, they propose several search engines that work quite well (with some surprises, but the treasure it contains compensates everything.)

Here is a little sample of books, the link might not work in a few months as this is only a results page; we'll try to keep this up-to-date; if we fail to do that, please accept our apologies and refer to the main home page and make your own search.

Have fun!!!
